I got a marketing job in DC!

...and I'm moving there in two weeks!

Life happens so quickly sometimes. Here's where I am:

Exactly one week ago, I accepted a marketing position for a computer software company based in Rockville, Maryland. I am so, so delighted by this career opportunity. My start date is January 3rd. Happy New Year!

I went to DC on Sunday to check out apartments. I found some roommates (from Craigslist, no doubt!) that I have a pretty good feeling about. Some 20-somethings that are looking to fill a 3rd bedroom in Silver Spring, MD. I submitted my application and am hoping to officially sign the lease by the beginning of next week.

I've been immensely grateful for my job as an Administrative Assistant, but I've never considered this to be a final resting place. My goal has always been to embark on a career in PR or marketing. And lately, I've just felt like I need a change.

I thought change would come in the form of grad school, but it's clear now that this is exactly the change that I need. I still plan on getting my masters at some point, but it looks like I have a few things to figure out in between now and then.

Philly has been my targeted market for years, but I just haven't found many opportunities here. It's sad, because I love this city and I love the people here. But after some convincing from a dear friend, I started to set my sights on Washington DC. Although I haven't told many people, I've actually been exploring that market for almost a year. In a lot of ways, this feels like a dream coming true.

My last day is December 23rd, just in time for Christmas. I am overwhelmed and humbled by the depth of God's goodness over the past few weeks. The past two years have been so hard. With that as a backdrop, these blessings feel even richer.

Merry Christmas!! <3

  1. Congrats! How does your plan for grad school fit into all this? Also, I went to elementary school in Silver Spring...Greencastle Elementary School. :)
