After I decided to attend the open casting call, my next big decision was what to wear. The website says that the dress code is casual, so I made peace with a gray summer dress from Express accompanied by some colorful accessories. Please see the blurry picture from a previous occasion for a basic idea (sans colorful accessories):

Instead of Googling what to expect, I decided to live life on the wild side and embrace the unknown. My ride to Center City mostly consisted of anticipating interview questions, talking through my hypothetical answers and planning my grand entrance from the limo on the 1st episode. Then I arrived at the Crown Plaza Hotel.
I sat in the waiting room and quietly signed my life away. Until this point, I hadn't felt the least bit nervous. But once I started surveying my competition, my heart started a speedy pitter patter. Quicker than I could say, "I'm here to find love," I was holding a sign with my name and number on it and getting my picture taken in front of the hotel lobby's wall.
The total wait after my photo shoot was circa 30 minutes. During this time an awkward (though attractive) man, the Senior Marketer of a Wireless Carrier, walked around and attempted conversation with the applicants. My master plan of avoiding eye-contact with him was a great success and I thankfully made it onto the next stage without falling prey to small talk about internet usage and dead zones.
We sat in an orderly fashion outside of two intimidating double doors. The amount of time between each applicant varied significantly, thus heightening the sense of immediacy. While some women fixed their hair 437 times, other women ran to the restroom for a nervous pee. I stared at the wall.
My time came. The double doors swung open and a man called my name. He handed me a clip-on microphone and sat me down in front of the camera for an interview. The questions were basic and predictable, but the real challenge was trying to answer them in a way that made me sound interesting but not tooooooo interesting, if you catch my drift.
All in all a riveting experience, hopefully ending on the Wings of Love.
If I had a glass of champagne in hand, I'd toast to The Bach, season 15.
Cheers to finding love & the man I will marry!
